If we want to change something, we must first understand it.

Ask yourself:
Who do I know that fits this?
Is this okay?
How did we get here?
What do we do next?

Part-time employment

This is the percent of our jobs that are part-time vs full time. We are at over 60% while the state and national rates are at 45% & 44% . Most of these jobs are minimum wage as well- how are we supposed to live?

Median Income by Worker in Alamogordo

If a business model needs poverty wages and taxpayer-funded state subsidies via SNAP/EBT/HUD/etc, does it even work? Is that something we want in our community? Why are we paying their workers so that the owners can make money from us?

Poverty by Age in Alamogordo

This is a failure in policy, vision, duty, and leadership. What if we had the lowest poverty rate in New Mexico? Highest homeownership rate? Best funded schools? What if we took the reigns of power from those who saw it fit to ignore the 24.3% of our children and youth who are below the poverty line? Let's make better decisions about where our money goes and who our government serves. Let's do that as a community. Let's do that together.

What do we do?

When we drive around certain roads due to potholes, see our kids and friends move away for job opportunities, see our rents raise and nothing changing for the better- its no wonder why we had an 18% voter turnout four years ago.

We can’t do this alone. Vote this November however you feel best looks out for yourself and your neighbors. Either way, I will see you at your doorstep in the coming months and will continue to serve you in whatever capacity I am able.
